Decorating for Fall with Hurricanes

Do you feel decorating challenged?  Trust me, your in good company as I hear that often.  However, a simple piece to decorate is a hurricane as the options are endless.  Let's focus on FALL for now.  An easy and inexpensive way to fill a hurricane is to take some dried beans, split green peas or even rice and layer them into your hurricane.  You may want to purchase some dried wheat or even use some branches for added height.  This first picture is a stalk of dried wheat which I put inside a glass to keep the wheat stalks together.  However the glass is hidden since I placed 3 bags of split green peas around the glass.  I love the green color this time of year too for added beauty.

I mentioned earlier that branches are a great way to add height to your hurricane.  Plus, branches are very popular in decor right now.  You will want to use someting to stabilize your branches inside the hurricane such as river rocks, sand, ornaments, etc.

Look how cute this Large Galveston Hurricane looks with a plant and a fish in it.  Not only does this add texture to your room because it is a living plant but also a definite conversation piece because of the surprise fish.

One of my favorite fillers for fall in a hurricane is candy corn.  Look how fun and eye catching this hurricane is with the black licorice spider on top.  Any kid and even adult will love this fall decoration.  The only problem will be keeping the candy corn stocked!  For directions on how to decorate this cute hurricane look, go to:

The possibilities are endless when decorating a hurricane for fall.  Try it for yourself and FALL in love with hurricanes!
