Willow House - Mixing the Old with the New

Several weeks ago I gave away a Hawthorne Hurricane and Emily B. won this giveaway.  She sent me pictures recently of how she has decorated her new Hawthorne hurricane for Christmas and I LOVE it!  I'm all about some red anyway but she did a great mix of red and gold Christmas balls in different sizes and even some that are glittered and some that are just shiny.  This adds interest and texture and frankly lots of beauty!

This next picture is a great example of mixing the old with the new.  This is becoming a trend and Emily did a great job of just that as she mixed her new items (Hawthorne hurricane, cinnabar baker which is the red piece in the middle of the buffet and the Christmas book) with her granny's dishes.  Not only did she create a beautiful buffet display but she was also able to add some special family dishes which I'm sure hold many memories.  This is a great example of mixing the old with the new!
