Winter Hurricane

Ok, so I'm not talking about an actual weather hurricane but a hurricane you use in your home decor.  I love hurricanes to decorate.  In fact, if your are not a decorating diva or if you feel challenged when it comes to home decor, use a hurricane.  They look good with a candle, branches, candy, decorative balls and the list goes on.  You will see that below I used the large Galveston Hurricane.

My favorite for winter are simply branches!  If you can find some branches that bloom in the winter that you have struck gold (or at least a pretty centerpiece).  Here is one of my favorites!  Branches with blossoms that smell divine.  Oh I wish you could smell these beautiful blooms.

For the life of me I cannot find what type of branches these are.  Yes, this tree has been in my yard for 11 years but none of my neighbors have a tree like this.  It looks sorta like a cherry blossom but it doesn't cluster like cherry blossoms do.  I've looked online numerous times but haven't found an exact match.

The hot pink blooms are just beautiful when in full bloom but it only lasts about 3 weeks so I need to cut the branches and enjoy them while I can.  Even our driveway has a spring look when they are in bloom if a good rain comes along.
Do you enjoy using branches in your decor?

If you know what kind of tree this is, please let me know!
